Kate Middleton is expected to ease into the new year, according to a recent report.
The Princess of Wales, who celebrates her 43rd birthday on Thursday, will take a slower pace in 2025, handling fewer public duties than she normally would.
Sources informed the Daily Mail that the mother of three “won’t be returning to work in the same capacity as she did before” revealing her cancer diagnosis in March 2024.
Additionally, insiders reveal that Princess Catherine’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will continue to be her main focus this year.
At present, the princess does not have any extensive overseas tours planned, and it will take some time before she fully re-engages with royal duties, as she is still recovering from cancer but is making good progress.
Nevertheless, royal supporters can look forward to seeing the cherished royal at significant events on the royal calendar, including the Trooping the Colour ceremony, which is considered her “top priority” among royal commitments.
The Wales family has had a challenging 2024, following Middleton’s diagnosis after a scheduled abdominal surgery last January.
As she underwent treatment, the princess spent a significant amount of time out of the public eye, leading William to scale back his commitments and dedicate more time to being at home.
Since Middleton revealed that she is cancer-free, the couple has slowly resumed their public engagements.
Sources have informed the outlet that Middleton has been very involved with the couple’s three children, frequently attending their sports events and handling the daily school drop-offs and pick-ups.
“It’s about finding balance,” one insider shared. “I think she prefers to confirm her attendance only when she’s certain she can be there, rather than raising expectations and having to cancel later.”
The Post has contacted Kensington Palace for a statement.
As the princess gradually settles into the year and feels more prepared, she is expected to assist her husband in preparing for his future role as king.
“While the king continues to fulfill his duties with his usual resolve, he has had to come to terms with certain limitations during his cancer treatment,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith previously told People.
“As a result, William has been shouldering more duties, and he and Kate have been getting ready for their future roles earlier than anticipated.”
It was also reported last month that the king had a private meeting with Middleton after the palace began implementing plans for ascension.
