Harry and Meghan’s move that ‘wounded’ late Queen revealed by insiders

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a decision that reportedly caused deep hurt to the late Queen, according to claims. Meghan Markle’s choice to delay her Netflix lifestyle series due to the Los Angeles wildfires has drawn scrutiny from royal courtiers, who likened it to previous actions by the Sussexes that strained their relationship with the royal family.

The Duchess announced the postponement of *With Love, Meghan*, originally scheduled for release on January 15, now set to air on March 4. In her statement, Meghan expressed gratitude to Netflix for supporting the delay, focusing on aiding those affected by the wildfires in California, her home state. She said: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

*People* magazine reported that the Duchess “didn’t think twice” about postponing the show, citing an insider who described it as an “easy decision” due to her “genuine concern” for her hometown and its residents.

However, Richard Eden from the *Mail* noted that royal sources made “wry remarks” about Meghan’s motives. They highlighted that the Sussexes had previously gone ahead with their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Netflix docuseries, and Harry’s memoir, despite challenging times for the royal family, such as Prince Philip’s hospitalisation in 2021 and Queen Elizabeth’s declining health in 2022.

A royal source commented: “Meghan seemingly didn’t think twice about going ahead with the Oprah interview, did she?” Eden added: “Let’s not forget how deeply the interview with America’s chat show queen must have wounded the Royal Family. It’s not hard to see why some close to the Royal Family would treat Meghan’s concern for the feelings of others with profound scepticism.”
