Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appeared united as they attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada.

Before Harry stepped forward to deliver his speech, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a brief kiss, capturing a heartfelt moment during the inspiring event. The ceremony at BC Place in Vancouver on February 8 featured touching tributes to athletes and performances by Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, Chris Martin of Coldplay, and Noah Kahan.

Their presence at the event underscored their ongoing dedication to shared charitable causes, particularly the Invictus Games. Founded by Harry in 2014, the event serves as a platform to support and honor wounded servicemen and women.

Meghan, 43, has often spoken about her admiration for the Invictus Games and its participants, and this year was no different. During an unscripted speech at a welcome reception on February 7, she expressed her excitement about returning to Canada and took a moment to acknowledge Harry’s passion for the Games.

“You will see him throughout this week,” she said, noting that he would be present at events, cheering on competitors, and even joining in on activities like curling and wheelchair basketball.

“It means so much to him,” she continued. “You are his family, just as we are his family. And I hope you recognize how much of his heart he has poured into every single beat that has gotten all of you to this week that is going to be spectacular.

“I need you to know that, I need you to know how much it means to him and how much each of you mean to him. It is my entire pleasure and complete honor to introduce to the stage my husband, the father of our very sweet, excited children who are cheering you on from California, Prince Harry, founder of the Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex.”

The Games mark the couple’s first official joint appearance since their tour of Colombia in August. In January, they were seen together in Pasadena, California, visiting the World Central Kitchen to help distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.

While Meghan has solo projects ahead, her attendance at the Invictus Games reinforces her and Harry’s unity in both personal and professional spheres, with family remaining her top priority.

One attendee in Vancouver commented on the Duchess’s presence, saying, “I think it’s great that she’s coming. There is a lot of speculation about them and their marriage, but this reinforces one thing to me, at least — there is no separation. It looks like they present a united front when it comes to matters they both care about.”

In December, Harry addressed the ongoing public scrutiny of their relationship. Speaking with New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin, he dismissed rumors about their time apart. “Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” he joked, adding that he ignores the speculation and even feels sorry for those who spread false narratives.

The Invictus Games hold special significance in Harry and Meghan’s love story, as it was during the 2017 Toronto Games that they made their first public appearance as a couple. At the time, Meghan was filming *Suits* in Toronto, and their romance was confirmed when they were seen holding hands at a wheelchair tennis event.
