His jet-black coat matches the dark tones of the kitchen floor and surrounding shadows almost perfectly, creating a natural optical illusion. Unlike most hidden-object puzzles, where the trick lies in placing something out of context, this image is deceptive precisely because nothing feels out of place. The Labrador is lying calmly where you might expect a pet to rest, and yet, because of color and lighting, he vanishes into the background.
