While cleaning your home is a must, streamlining the process can be. Instead of spending hours and hours attempting to clean everything with the same old products and techniques, it’s time to try something new. Prepare to feel like The Flash as you eliminate dirt and odors in record time.

Clean white surfaces

To make a detergent, combine borax and baking soda with neutral soap. It can be used to clean the floor and neutralize odors in addition to washing your clothes. Begin by grating a bar of soap to make this cleaner. Boil it with a little water, then add 2 cups of baking soda and 2 cups of borax until it’s homogeneous.

Add water until the detergent reaches the desired consistency and store it in clean bottles once it has cooled. Remember to give it a good shake before using it.

 Get rid of accumulated tartar

Kettles provide us with hot water at any time of day, but they accumulate scale over time, regardless of how frequently they are washed. To effectively remove it, combine a cup of vinegar and a cup of water, boil the mixture for a couple of minutes, and that’s all there is to it. Remember to thoroughly rinse or wipe the appliance with a damp cloth before using it again.

Fight bad odors in the sink

this is a simple but effective trick. Pour 2 large spoonfuls of baking soda into the sink, then gradually pour in hot water until all the powder is gone. Remember to do this when there are no dishes in there, and repeat it every time the odor tries to return.

Clean the fan without having to disassemble it

Keeping a fan clean is a real challenge. If you have a model such as the one from the image above, you actually don’t have to disassemble it to clean it. Pour 2 tablespoons of baking soda, a tablespoon of liquid soap, and a cup of vinegar into a spray bottle. Mix well and apply it to the fan. Then place a bag that covers it completely and leave it on for 5 minutes.

All the dirt will stay in the bag and you’ll be able to enjoy a fan that doesn’t spread dust around the house. It’s recommended to clean it once a week so that it doesn’t accumulate dust.

 Keep pillows white

It’s normal for pillows to change color over time. To recover the white tone that makes them look so clean, add lemon juice with hydrogen peroxide when washing them. If you need something more powerful, you can use a cup of baking soda and a cup of vinegar along with your favorite soap.

Remove scale from showerheads

A place that we sometimes forget to deep clean is the showerhead. To clean it and leave it looking as good as new, just mix a cup of vinegar with half a cup of water, submerge the showerhead in it, and leave it in the solution for a couple of hours. Then just rinse it thoroughly.

Remove unpleasant odors from the washing machine

After constant use, washing machines can have an unpleasant smell that may even permeate your clothes. To avoid this, pour baking soda with water into the fabric softener dispenser and fill the washer with a large load.

Another option is to use vinegar. Pour 2 cups of it into the washer and run a full cycle with warm water. When it’s done, wipe the inside with a damp cloth to remove any residue, and you’re done.

Get rid of unpleasant odors from garbage cans.

A fabric softener can be used for more than just washing your clothes. Some people use it as an air freshener to prevent bad smells coming from the garbage from contaminating the rest of your home. All you need to do is soak a cotton ball in fabric softener and, once it absorbs the liquid, place it in the bottom of the trash can. You can then put a bag in and use the can as normal.

Deep clean your kitchen towels and cloths

In a container, pour in 3 tablespoons of liquid soap, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and a splash of vinegar, then add warm water and mix well. Add the kitchen towels and cloths, soaking them very well and letting them rest for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water and soap. This will help you remove the odor and grease faster.

You can also add a cup of baking soda or vinegar to the washing machine and let it sit before finishing the wash cycle, but remember to clean it well before using it with your clothes.

Remove stains from mattresses

If your bed starts to have a stain or 2, don’t worry, they’re commonly caused by sweat, but the best thing to do is to remove them so they don’t get worse over time. If the soap doesn’t work its magic and the stain doesn’t disappear, pour hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle and spray the stain with it. Use a toothbrush to scrub it in.

Wipe off the excess with a damp cloth and place a thin layer of baking soda on the area. Let it dry for 3 to 5 hours, vacuum the baking soda, and you’re done
